Isn’t that a beautiful name? I remember hearing the name ‘Everly’ on an episode of “Say Yes to The Dress” so many years ago, it is so pretty! This baby girl came to the studio for her newborn photoshoot when she was just a couple of weeks old. She slept like a doll and was a perfect model. We used so many new props and the colors completed her complexion.

A question I am often asked by expectant moms is when to take newborn photos.
With full term babies, the best time is between days 7 and 21. The first week should be focused on healing and resting (and attempting to sleep!). After that third week, babies tend to stretch their legs out and don’t enjoy being curled up as much as they do fresh out of the womb. Scheduling clients right around that two weeks, leaving a little wiggle room if baby arrives early or late, etc.

I send my clients a newborn questionnaire so that we can choose colors that fit with their style and preferences. Neutrals and soft color palettes are my favorite, so I will always incorporate those. She looks just angelic in those soft neutrals with her perfect complexion.

What’s included in a newborn session?

With every newborn session, I will make sure to grab some images that include baby’s whole body, a variety of angles and poses, as well as macro (or close up) shots. I love to photograph the teeny details of a newborn. Their toes, the dream-smiles that you sometimes get to see, the first glimpses of their dimples, the beautiful eyelashes, the swirl of their hair, their petite fingernails. I will always be in awe of babies and how perfectly beautiful they are. I want you to have a gallery full of images that document every feature and uniqueness of your baby so you can look back as they grow and change and remember exactly how they started.
