A Family I’ve Photographed for Years
Some clients start as strangers and become something more — and Natalie and Sean are a perfect example. I met Sean years ago as my personal trainer. Since then, I’ve had the honor of photographing their wedding, then their first baby, Jace. So when Natalie asked me to be her Noblesville maternity photographer for baby #2, it felt like coming full circle with a family I’ve watched grow for years.
This session came during a season that asked a lot of this family. It’s been a hard year in ways I won’t get into here. But watching them thrive through it all is so beautiful — that’s what having a partner in this life is all about. That’s the thing about maternity sessions: they capture more than a belly and a due date. They capture a family in the middle of their story, exactly as they are.
The Session
We kept things simple and true to Natalie — soft, warm light, and all the small in-between moments that make a maternity session feel like her instead of a generic photoshoot. Every session is a little different depending on what a mama wants to remember about this chapter. For Natalie, it was about feeling beautiful and documenting another huge milestone in their family. It was also about capturing her relationship with her boys, and their anticipation of the new little one.
If you’re curious how the story continues, baby Alanah has since made her arrival. You can see Jace and Alanah’s newborn session here.
Booking Your Own Maternity Session
I recommend booking your maternity session between weeks 28–32, so there’s still time to plan yours if baby’s on the way. I’d love to help you capture this season too. Check out your investment options here, or reach out to get started.
According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the third trimester is generally the safest and most comfortable window for a maternity session. That’s why most of mine happen right in that 28–32 week range.
